I shop for a living and have found 12 of the best stylish and flattering Christmas knits to buy now, from just £14
‘TIS the season to be jolly and nothing beats getting in the Christmas spirit than wearing a festive knit!
Even though we’re still in November, stores are showcasing their Christmas knitwear selections left, right and centre.
Make sure you’re ahead of the curve and get your favourites added to your basket before they sell out.
Whether you love something glitzy or want one that’s more pared back, there are so many options to choose from.
And all from as little as £14.
Here, Deputy Fashion Editor Abby McHale has scoured the stores for ones to make you look and feel great.
River Island, £45
River Island, £45[/caption]This year, River Island has teamed up with Nephthys Illustrated to create a range of super-fun festive jumpers.
Retailing for £45, these are already proving to be popular with some sizes starting to sell out already.
This “Santa Baby” design is particularly popular and features added details such as on-trend bows along both sleeves.
Perfect for all your Christmas festivities, I already have one of these in my basket and plan on wearing it with a satin midi and heels.
New Look, £26.99
New Look, £26.99[/caption]Christmas jumpers can be super-fun, bold, bright and sparkly, and this design from New Look is literally “Festive, Merry and Bright”.
The berry tones are bang on-trend, with burgundy being the shade of the season, so this Christmas jumper is not only festive but stylish, too.
Wear with cosy lounge joggers for an extra-comfy look, or make it more glam with sparkly accessories, wide-leg trousers and heels, perfect for the party season.
H&M, £24.99
H&M, £24.99[/caption]If you’re after a Christmas jumper that nods to the festivities, but is a bit more subtle, then look no further than this one from H&M.
In a classic grey colour, this knit is perfect to wear with anything from jeans for a low-key look, or dressed up with a miniskirt and boots.
The “Joy” slogan in a festive candy-cane pattern gives this a touch of Christmas, without being too OTT – such a classy option.
Marks & Spencer, £29.50
Marks & Spencer, £29.50[/caption]Another fun offering, this time from Marks & Spencer, is this black jumper with “Fa La Laa” in the shape of a Christmas tree.
Many festive knits are in bright, bold colours, so it’s nice to see a cool black version that still brings the Christmas vibes.
I love the pink and gold lettering and the clever shape it makes to look like a tree.
Wear with black leather-look trousers and flats for a cool-girl aesthetic.
Plus, we all know black is a slimming shade, so there is no chance of you looking frumpy in this!
Chinti & Parker, £250
Chinti & Parker, £250[/caption]At the higher end of the budget, if you’re looking for a luxe jumper to last a lifetime, then Chinti & Parker has some great options.
Made from a wool-cashmere blend, this jumper oozes quiet luxury.
A cream knit with “Joyeux Noel” in red (“Merry Christmas” in French, FYI), this is the ultimate chic jumper that will have everyone asking you where it’s from.
And while it does come with a sizeable price tag, this classic style will see you through year after year.
Tu Clothing, £24
Tu Clothing, £24[/caption]Who needs to hang mistletoe up when you could just wear it?
This cute jumper from Tu Clothing at Sainsbury’s is a playful nod to the classic festive tradition.
And it’s just £24, which equates to £1 a day if you wear it from December 1 to Christmas Eve!
Available in a range of sizes from 8-24, customer reviews say this jumper fits true to size.
George at Asda, £18
George at Asda, £18[/caption]For those who aren’t keen on glitzy or bright designs, but still want a clear nod to Christmas, this jumper from George at Asda ticks all the boxes.
A beige base with an arty Christmas tree in black, you can style this to look cool with wide-leg trousers and boots for a smart ensemble.
It just shows Christmas doesn’t all have to be about sequins.
Primark, £14
Primark, £14[/caption]I love this Alpine Fair Isle-style cardigan from Primark.
Not only is it an absolute bargain at £14, but is also perfect for this chilly time of year.
The Christmas-tree detailing around the collar, along with the traditional colours, makes this super-festive without being garish.
A cardigan is a great option instead of a jumper, which can add bulk to your body.
You could wear it open with a top underneath to break up the pattern and add some shape to your look.
Boden, £95
Boden, £95[/caption]Boden has lots of lovely options for Christmas knits, including this pink jumper with a cute robin design.
It also comes in a mini-me version so you can match with your little ones! While it’s definitely for the festive season, it’s not too in-your-face and can look super-stylish.
You can layer it up with a blouse underneath for extra style points (plus another layer of warmth), or wear over a dress.
Next, £39
Next, £39[/caption]This bow knit from Next has a V-neckline, which not many jumpers out there have.
This style is flattering if you have a larger bust – it can make your jumper look less bulky and can add some shape to your look.
The style is slouchy, so you could add a belt to cinch in your waist and create even more shape if needed, so you’re not swamped with fabric.
I love the bow detailing and it’s one of the few jumpers that you could get away with wearing once the festive season is over, which gives it extra points.
What’s more, there is even matching dog versions so you and your furry friend can twin!
White Stuff, £65
White Stuff, £65[/caption]Another jumper that you can definitely wear past the festive season, this one from White Stuff is made from lambswool, so will be sure to keep you extra toasty.
The design is a modern take on Christmas patterns and so is perfect for those who want a nod to the festive season, but also buy something they can wear for the rest of winter.
Team with jeans, boots and a puffer coat for a stylish and functional outdoor outfit.
Anthropologie, £90
Anthropologie, £90[/caption]Anthropologie has lots of lovely Christmas knits, including this sweet white cardigan with red-bow detail.
I also love the red scallop edges and could see myself wearing this with lots of pieces in my wardrobe, from jeans to skirts and over dresses, too.
And while this is definitely not the cheapest of knits at £90, it is a cardigan I would wear year after year.
Boux Avenue, £44
Launched this week lingerie brand Boux Avenue has released three Christmas jumpers.
Coming in red, black and grey they’re super festive, in a fair isle knit style complete with pearl detailing.
Red really is the colour of Christmas and so nothing says festive more than this shade.
Wear with some cosy lounge bottoms for a comfy, relaxed look this Christmas time.

WANT to look fabulous this season? Then listen up...
Here, Fabulous’ fashion editor, Clemmie Fieldsend, says these are the top 5 trends from the hottest catwalk designers for autumn 2024.
BOHO: The boho revival is a much needed breath of fresh air for autumn and means you can wear your sheer tops, girly frocks and big jeans with heavy duty boots.
But if the clothes aren’t for you think, big accessories like slouchy tote bags, big earrings and bigger bangles.
TEXTURE: Be it smooth leather, sumptuous faux fur or soft suede, textures are everywhere this season.
They add depth to your look, making you stand out as well as look more expensive.
BURGUNDY: Maroon, oxblood, berry- whatever you choose to call it fashion is seeing red this autumn.
The deep and rich colour is everywhere and works best with greys, black, dark blues and in head-to-toe.
LADY LIKE: Matching top and cardigan sets and pencil skirts sound dated but they go hand-in-hand with lady-like.
Mix with satin cami dresses and waisted blazers for an ultra feminine look.
LEOPARD PRINT: This season 75% of the catwalk was leopard print, according to Tagwalk – a huge majority.
It crawled its way in last season but its rife for autumn and all over the high street, be it shoes or floor sweeping coats, it’s a must have trend.
