Iota man arrested, charged with underage sex crimes
IOTA, La. (KLFY) -- Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Cyber Crime Unit is asking for public's help after an Iota man was arrested and charged with child sex crimes.
Charles Wayne Timmons, 41, of Iota, was charged Wednesday with two counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile and two counts of computer-aided solicitation of a minor, both felonies.
Agents initially got a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
This arrest was the result of a joint investigation with the Cyber Crime Unit, the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office and Homeland Security Investigations.
“If you harm our kids you're going to jail,” Murrill said.
The Cyber Crime Unit believes Timmons has been communicating with other juveniles in the area, and is asking the Acadia and Jefferson Davis Parish communities to report any relevant information.
Timmons was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail. His bond information is still pending.
The investigation is ongoing.
