Taylor Swift fans rush Selfridges to decorate their Christmas trees as brand launch 12 iconic Eras Tour baubles
DROP everything now if you’re a Swiftie and head down to Selfridges for their new range of Christmas decorations.
Taylor Swift fans are scrambling to nab their new collection of Christmas tree ornaments.
With the pop star on the last leg of The Eras Tour many of her fans (including us) are gutted that we won’t see her glitzy outfits on stage for much longer.
But it doesn’t mean the magic has to completely stop and we have the British retailer to thank for that.
Taking to social media one Swiftie named Florence Goodrham shared just some of the Christmas decorations she found and how they related to Taylor herself.
She said: “I could not believe this table, it was begging me to take everything home and make a Taylor Swift Christmas tree.”
First of all she found an ornament of the woman herself – Taylor Swift in her sparkling Midnights playsuit for £40 – while it is on the pricier side, lots of Swifties will see it as worth it.
As well as the blonde hanging on your tree, you can also get a cute pink and white ‘Swiftie’ decoration for £26 to go along with it.
And there were plenty of decorations that relate to famous song lyrics Taylor has written.
A bejewelled cherry decoration can hint to her Blank Space lyrics ‘cherry lips, crystal skies,’ while a pink disco ball hints to the song Mirrorball on her Folklore album.
There was also a rainbow flag to represent her Lover song, ‘You Need to Calm Down,’ for £16 to represent her support for the LGBTQ+ community.
There was also a mini piano ornament for the tree and an engagement ring in a box – both representing her Evermore era and the hit song ‘Champagne Problems,’ and plenty of decorations featuring cats – Taylor’s favourite animal.
She also found a silver cowboy hat – a nod to Taylor’s first album, a boombox for her Shake It Off video, a diamond encrusted pink guitar to represent her Lover guitar from the Eras Tour and even a skateboard to symbolise James – a character form the song Betty.
The clip of the ornaments shared on her TikTok account @florencegoodrham went viral with over 258k views and 12k likes.
People were quick to confess their love for the ornaments and were tempted to start a full Taylor Swift themed Christmas tree.
One person wrote: “Bought the Swiftie ornament during my last trip but it seems like I need to go back (£40 is obscene though even as a Christmas ornament connoisseur).”
Another commented: “My sister bought a mirror ball tree topper and baubles for our tree; it’s definitely going to be a Swiftmas here.”
Is Taylor Swift's Eras merch worth the price tag?
AHEAD of going to see Taylor in action, Fabulous Digital Writer Leanne Hall weighs in on whether the merch is really worth the price tag:
“As a 29-year-old Swiftie who made it to the top 0.1% of Taylor listeners on Spotify last year, you could say I’m very excited to see her on the Era’s Tour in London later this month.
“With the three-hour long set list, there’s no surprise Taylor was named Time Magazine’s Person of the Year and fans lucky enough to get tickets know they’re about to watch the concert of the century.
“The Eras Tour catapulted the singer/songwriter into the billionaires club, and it’s no surprise when some UK tickets were going for almost £700 a pop.
“While tickets were expensive, her merch isn’t far off what most artists price their stuff at, and I for one will be spending hundreds to get my hands on sweaters and T-shirts from the tour.
“While £70 for a hoodie would make me think twice if I was shopping in a store, this isn’t a regular hoodie.
“Yes, you’ll look fabulous heading to the shops in it, but it’s also a piece of the day you get to keep forever to look back fondly on, and for me and many other Swifties, no price tag can match that.”
“Fabulous! Give me all of them,” penned a third.
Meanwhile a fourth said: “I’m already on my way.”
“If only they weren’t obscenely expensive,” claimed a fifth.
Someone else added: “The boom box is giving shake it off.”
