Postcard from Cali: tiny line at dusk
Hello Friends,
Another day of abject tininess along the Northern Beaches. Surfing looks to be out…but maybe tomorrow when there might be a tiny onshore-ish lump at better exposures. After that though, the models are showing more of the current tiny, short period wave energy.
Note on the US election
I voted with the losing side in what I believe will be the most consequential election in US history. There is a not-insignificant chance that on January 20, 2025, it will quickly slip into autocracy and the consequences will be felt around the world — including in Australia. Autocracies are intrinsically corrupt because the rule of law is rapidly replaced by the rule of the autocrat. Wish I had a happier story to tell…

Weather Situation
A southerly change moves north along the coast today and is shifting winds to the southeast. The change may potentially stall about the central coast during Friday. After this another high pressure ridge is expected to establish along the coast bringing calm conditions. Another southerly change is forecast to move up the coast turning the weekend, reaching the northern border late Sunday or Monday.

- Northwest to southwesterly 10 to 15 knots tending northwesterly in the morning then turning north to northeasterly in the late morning. Winds reaching up to 20 knots inshore in the late evening.
