“I really have to apologize to you in person,” Bowen said to Ariana. “I opened up my mouth too much when we kissed on SNL.”
She replied saying, “You absolutely did. I was shaking after.” Ariana stressed that she didn’t mean it “in a bad way. Just in a disarming way.”
While Ariana noted that their chemistry “comes from a real place,” Bowen said that he “kissed [her] too much.”
They revealed that the kiss was not originally scripted. However, Ariana thought it would be a great idea to kiss. Bowen then texted her with the same idea. She agreed that she was “immediately on board.”
The costars “had a very grown-up conversation” about the kiss. They also rehearsed the kiss before filming.
While Ariana joked with Bowen about the kiss, she said that she wasn’t offended.
“It felt like what these people needed at that time,” she noted. “It felt like what these characters required. And I’m all for it.”
She also said, “For the characters, I think it was perfectly open.”
If you missed it, Ariana also discussed her 10-year plan.
