The upcoming film adaptation of the long-running Broadway musical is hitting theaters in just a couple of weeks, and it was just revealed that composer Stephen Schwartz will make an appearance.

In a screenshot from a magazine piece, Stephen, who wrote the music for the Broadway musical and the movie, is shown in a full Ozian costume. So what is his role?
Stephen will be playing a palace guard who Glinda and Elphaba encounter before getting to see the Wizard.
There is a line in the musical, “The Wizard will see you now!” from the song “One Short Day,” and it appears as though Stephen may be the one to say that in the movie!
According to the magazine’s caption on his photo, there are also “many cameos” in the upcoming movie.

Last week, Stephen was in attendance at a screening of Wicked with current and past actresses who have starred in the Broadway musical.
The original Glinda from the Broadway show, Kristin Chenoweth, has been spotted in the background of a behind-the-scenes clip by fans. While it’s not 100% confirmed to be here, it looks very much like her!
There is also speculation that Broadway’s original Elphaba, Idina Menzel, would make a cameo in the movie as well.
