5th Annual Gold Derby Music Awards nominations list: Charli XCX leads with 11
More than 1,300 music fans voted for their favorite achievements across 27 categories at the 5th Annual Gold Derby Music Awards, and Charli XCX has dominated the list with 11 nominations, including Artist, Album (“Brat”), Record (“360”), and Song of the Year (“360”). Scroll down for the complete list of GDMA nominations in all categories, and vote for the winners right now here in our predictions center. Voting will remain open until the end of the day on Friday, December 6, so you’ve got a full month to make your voice heard.
Charli’s haul also included two bids for Best Music Video and two bids for Best Collaboration. Normally, artists are only allowed one nomination per category, but an exception is made when the artist credits are different. In Best Music Video she’s nominated solo for “360” as well as with Billie Eilish for “Guess.” And in Best Collaboration she’s nominated for “Guess” and “Girl, So Confusing” (featuring Lorde), so stacking up different collabs definitely helped put her over the top.
Following close behind with nine nominations apiece are three artists: Ariana Grande, Beyonce, and Eilish. Like Charli, all of those artists are nominated across the top four categories of Artist, Album, Record, and Song of the Year. But only Chappell Roan scored in all of the top five categories: the ones mentioned as well as Best New Artist; the “Midwest Princess” has eight noms overall. You might notice that Sabrina Carpenter isn’t nominated for Best New Artist at these awards, despite being eligible for it at the Grammys. That’s because we already gave her that award last year, before it was cool. She is, however, up for Artist, Album, Record, and Song of the Year, plus a trio of pop awards, giving her seven nominations total.
The single most nominated song at this event is “Die with a Smile,” the duet between Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars. It’s the only recording to max out on its five potential bids: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Music Video, and Best Pop Song. Following close behind with four citations is Kendrick Lamar‘s blockbuster diss track “Not Like Us” with four noms: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Music Video, and Best Rap Song. Lamar is actually the most nominated male artist at this event with six total bids, so beefing with Drake clearly paid off — though not for Drake, whom our users didn’t nominate.
Now to vote for the winners, sign up for a free account here if you don’t have one already. Then visit our predictions center and click the green “VOTE” button next to “Gold Derby Music Awards 2025.” In the top five categories (Artist, Album, Record, Song, New Artist), you’ll rank your top three favorite nominees in order of preference. Your number-one choice gets three points, your number-two choice gets two points, and your number three choice gets one point. The nominee with the most points wins.
In every other category you will select one nominee as your favorite. The nominee who gets the most votes wins. Simple as that. You may vote in as many or as few categories as you wish. And you can update your ballot as often as you like; no votes are final until the December 6 deadline. So go ahead and cast your votes right now, and discuss these awards and more with your fellow music fans here in our forums.
