THIS is the greatest political comeback of our lifetime.
My friend Donald J Trump will be the 47th President of the USA.
He has put together an extraordinary coalition of voters not seen before from a Republican.
Trump persuaded a record number of black and Hispanic voters this time round.
Americans voted for a strong leader who will build a strong economy, control America’s borders and put family first.
The ball is now in Keir Starmer’s court to roll out the red carpet and seize a fantastic opportunity for Britain.
Given the incendiary comments in the past from very senior Labour figures, this will not be easy.
Even Trump’s son, Donald Jr, has said in the last few days that the relationship is not off to the best of starts.
But I am pleased to see our excellent Speaker Lindsay Hoyle will allow Trump to address Parliament on a state visit next year.
That is a positive start.
Trump is a great friend of our country and his win is a positive thing for the UK and the entire western world.
Let’s embrace him.
