Here are the registration deadlines and early voting dates for Dec. 7 runoff election
BATON ROUGE, La. (KLFY) — Several races in Acadiana will require a runoff to decide, and the deadlines to register to vote in the Dec. 7 General Election are quickly approaching.
Those offices to be decided Dec. 7 include Youngsville Police Chief, Youngsville City Council Division D, Pine Prairie Police Chief and New Iberia City Council Districts 2 and 5.
The deadline to register in person, by mail, or at the OMV Office is Wednesday, Nov. 6. The deadline to register through the GeauxVote Online Registration System is Saturday, Nov. 16. This deadline is for citizens who have never registered to vote, as well as voters who would like to make changes to their registration.
Citizens may check their registration or register to vote online at GeauxVote.com. After registering, voters should download the free GeauxVote Mobile smartphone app. The app provides registration information as well as voting districts, sample ballots, polling place information and election results.
Early voting for the Dec. 7 election will take place Friday, Nov. 22 through Saturday, Nov. 30 (excluding Sunday, Nov. 24, Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29) from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
