I-70 closes at Colorado-Kansas border due to winter weather
TOPEKA (KSNT) - Kansas transportation officials say westbound I-70 is closed near the Colorado border due to winter weather conditions.
The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) posted a traffic alert through kandrive.gov on Wednesday, Nov. 6 showing westbound I-70 closed at Burlington Colorado due to wintry conditions. Drivers will need to find alternate routes or remain in place while the highway is closed.
The National Weather Service (NWS) station based out of Goodland issued an alert for the area on social media concerning blowing snow. Winter storm warnings and advisories are in effect in many nearby counties in western Kansas and eastern Colorado.
