The View’s Sunny Hostin slammed over ‘uneducated white women’ comment during on-air ‘meltdown’ after Trump victory
THE hosts of The View are being slammed for their emotional reactions on live TV to Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 presidential election.
Trump beat out Kamala Harris in the race to the White House with a landslide win of the popular vote and 292 Electoral College votes so far.
Harris called Trump on Wednesday afternoon to concede the election.
The show’s co-host Sunny Hostin spoke through tears and said she was “profoundly disturbed” by the results, blaming “cultural resentment” for Trump’s victory.
“I was so hopeful that a mixed-race woman married to a Jewish guy could be elected president of this country,” Hostin said on the segment.
“And I think that it had nothing to do with policy. I think this was a referendum of cultural resentment in this country.”
After blaming cultural resentment, she also said “uneducated white women” were also responsible for the results, saying Harris ran a “flawless campaign.”
“Black women tried to save this country again, last night,” Hostin said.
“What we do not have is white women, who voted about 52 percent for Donald Trump – uneducated white women is my understanding.
“You have Latino men actually, voting more for him,” she added.
The co-hosts of The View, including Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar, wore all black in the post-election episode as they shared their reactions to the results.
While Goldberg refused to say Trump’s name, Behar said she “vehemently disagreed” with America’s decision.
Hostin’s comment specifically brought backlash from Trump supporters on X, who accused her of having a “public meltdown.”
“As expected, the ladies on The View are having a meltdown and blaming everyone they can,” one X user wrote.
“The View is all dressed in black for the Democrats’ funeral party,” another noted.
“Sunny Hostin even ended up having a meltdown in real time blaming conservative women and Latinos.”
