‘Human remains’ found in field in Bristol
Suspected human remains have been found in a field near Bristol, police confirmed.
The remains have been found on Apple Grove in Emersons Green, just before midday on Tuesday.
Forensic officers were also seen in the area as well as fire crews.
Apple Grove is a cul-de-sac which is next to a green space and a lake.
The identity of the remains is not yet known and the death is being treated as unexplained.
Further searches around the area are due to be carried out later today.
Locals in the area said their usually-quiet street has been ‘non-stop’ because of the police activity.
A police spokesperson confirmed: ‘Police are investigating the discovery of suspected human remains in a field in Emersons Green.
‘Officers were alerted just before midday on Tuesday 5 November by a member of the public.
‘Police and fire crews attended, and further searches will be carried out today, Wednesday 6 November.
‘Detectives have not yet been able to identify the remains, and the death is currently being treated as unexplained pending a forensic post-mortem examination.’
