Ageless icon Dita Von Teese has shared her secret beauty tricks[/caption] Famed for dancing in a martini glass, Dita hasn’t aged in decades[/caption] She revealed the secret was sleeping like a ‘glampire’[/caption]Speaking on the Naked beauty Planted podcast, she recommended sleeping like a ‘glampire’.
Dita, famed for performing on stage in a giant martini glass, said she often takes advice from women older than herself when it comes to skincare.
She said: “I think, one of the best things you can do is ask the elderly people around you for advice on all levels of life.”
One of their beauty tips she constantly uses is applying sunscreen every single day.
While Dita uses the La Mer sunscreen which costs a staggering £95, you’ll be pleased to know the brand doesn’t matter so long as you’re protecting your skin from UV rays.
Dita also swears by not smoking, which can destroy collagen and elastin in the skin, making you age prematurely.
The ageless beauty also said you should cut out drinking, although she admits she still enjoys a glass on occasion.
She continued: “Also sleeping on my back.
“That’s when somebody should have told me a long time ago.
You have to sleep like a glampire.”
The clip was shared on their TikTok account@nakedbeautyplanet where it went viral with over 185k views and 15k likes.
People were quick to take to the comments eager to take on Dita’s advice.
One person wrote: “My jaw dropped when I googled her age. 52?! She looks incredible.”
Another commented: “Weirdly I sleep best on my back anyway so I guess I can be a glampire too.”
“Actually a perfect goddess,” penned a third.
The importance of sun cream in your skincare routine
Dermatologist and skincare enthusiast Andrea Suarez - known as Dr Dray - revealed why you should wear suncream.
The one thing you can do that will make the biggest difference – and this matters for all ages – is protecting your skin from the sun, Andrea stressed.
“The vast majority of external aging is due to exposure to ultraviolet radiation,” she continued, not because you’re “not using some jazzy serum or layering 90 different things on your face everyday”.
“If you’re not doing in your 20s, get on that now.”
But she said the use of sun cream alone doesn’t go far enough. Andrea urged that you also wear sun-protective clothing like broad-brimmed hats and long sleeves, on top of not staying out too long in the sun.
Doing this over your lifetime – and all year, not just during the summer or on sunny days – “will reduce the visible signs of photoageing”, Andrea said.
Those are wrinkles, muddled pigmentation and sagging skin.
Meanwhile a fourth said: “Wow, I know 20-year-olds who look older than her.”
“I saw her in Vegas and I’ve never seen a more breathtaking woman in person,” claimed a fifth.
Someone else added: “I saw her in person at a vintage swap once and I was frozen in place. She’s so magnetic and so stunning. There are no words.”
