Spurs duo Alfie Devine and Luka Vuskovic enjoy a great week with Westerlo
Alfie Devine and Luka Vuskovic continue their development at Belgian outfit KVC Westerlo, and it’s been a strong week for the Spurs duo with a couple of positive results for their team.
Back-to-back wins for Westerlo
We are now 13 games into the Belgian league campaign, and Westerlo are up to seventh in the table after registering another win, and they’ve also made progress in the cup, too.
The strong week for Westerlo began with that cup win over RWD Molenbeek. Vuskovic was not included in the squad for that 2-1 win, but Devine featured as a substitute for 13 minutes of that game.
Westerlo then secured their second victory of the week with a 2-0 win over Dender in the league, and we got to see plenty more of both Vuskovic and Devine in that one.
Devine made it all the way to injury time at the end of the game before being replaced, while Vuskovic played the full match and was instrumental in keeping the clean sheet for his team.
The pair will now be hoping to keep up their momentum for the next league game, with a tie against Charleroi coming up on Saturday evening.
Alfie Devine needs to take things to the next level
So far this season, Devine has featured in every game for Westerlo, and has played the full 90 minutes in all but one of their matches.
However, the Spurs youngster has yet to register a goal or an assist in his eight appearances, which will likely be preying on his mind.
The 20-year-old is playing in an attacking midfield role and should be contributing to his team’s actions in the final third a lot more.
While regular football is great, and playing in a different country will be a valuable experience for Devine, he really does need to offer more if he is to make an impact at Tottenham upon his return.
