Incumbents lead in Southern Marin fire board race
Three incumbents on the Southern Marin Fire Protection District board appear to headed for new terms, according to preliminary results Tuesday.
With 100% of precincts reporting Cathryn Hillard was leading with 8,297 votes, or 31%, followed by Ashley Raveche with 8,027 votes, or 30%, and Clifford Waldeck with 6,614 votes, or 25%. Rich Riechel garnered 3,432 votes, or 13%.
The board oversees 90 staff members and nine fire stations in a 25-square-mile area. The Mill Valley Fire Department merged with the Southern Marin district last year.
