'I don't know how that happened': Senior Dems saw writing on wall in Pennsylvania
Senior Pennsylvania Democrats had all but given up on Vice President Kamala Harris winning the state hours before it was called for Donald Trump Wednesday.
“We're getting beat in a lot of places,” Philadelphia Democratic Party Chair Bob Brady exclusively told Raw Story. “We may make it up to the Biden margins, but I don't know whether that'd be enough to win the state.”
While Pennsylvania Democrats like Brady are downtrodden about their party’s chances of retaining the White House, they still see a chance to keep incumbent Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) in the Senate.
“But the news that I'm getting is that there's 200 divisions — all African American divisions that are probably real good Democratic divisions — that have not turned in the results yet,” Brady said. “It will help Casey.”
“So you’re kinda a little more optimistic about Casey?” Raw Story asked.
“A little bit, yeah,” Brady said. “I'm still p---ed off that it had to be that close. I don't know how that happened.”
“Well, look, when you don't work, that’s what you get,” Brady added.
Brady’s not alone. Other Pennsylvania Democrats are with him.
“How you feeling?” Raw Story texted a senior Democrat in the state early Wednesday.
“How you think?” they replied.
