Scott Bendett wins reelection in New York's 107th Assembly District
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Republican incumbent Scott Bendett has won the 107th District of the State Assembly. The Associated Press has called the race for Bendett over Democratic challenger Chloe Pierce. District 107 includes parts of Albany, Rensselaer, Columbia, and Washington Counties.
Bendett ran unopposed in 2022 and won the 107th Assembly District. Bendett credits high taxes and living costs as a leading reason for people seeking to leave New York State.
In his reelection, Bendett said he would cut taxes and red tape that keep small businesses from growing. He said supporting small businesses is one of his top priorities.
Pierce, an activist and lobbyist, prioritized education, healthcare, energy and environment, affordability, rural resources and agriculture, and public safety. In terms of affordability, Pierce hoped to encourage people to stay in New York, expand rural broadband services, and protect small businesses by promoting job creation while calling attention to labor rights and protections.
