Possibility of married couple serving in the Kansas Legislature ends
TOPEKA (KSNT) - Kansas Democratic Representative Virgil Weigel won the race to keep his seat in the state's Legislature Tuesday.
The Kansas Secretary of State showed 30 out of 30 precincts reporting on Nov. 5 for the Kansas House of Representatives District 56. Weigel, the incumbent, defeated his Republican opponent Pennie Boyer-Kloos in the General Election.
- Pennie Boyer-Kloos - 4,802
- Weigel - 5,761
This ends the possibility of a married couple, Pennie Boyer-Kloos and current Kansas Sen. Rick Kloos, serving at the same time within the state Legislature.
