World-famous reality show hangout on sale for £3.8m – do you recognise it?
A WORLD-FAMOUS reality show hangout has gone on sale for an eye-popping £3.8million.
The Sugar Hut in Brentwood became a local attraction when it featured as a filming location on The Only Way Is Essex.
The Sugar Hut in Brentwood has been put on sale for just shy of £4million[/caption]The nightclub was frequented by stars Mark Wright, Joey Essex and Gemma Collins following the popular show’s launch in 2010.
Reform leader Nigel Farage raised eyebrows when he hosted a Brexit party rally at the swanky venue in 2019.
The nightclub was previously owned by late reality star Mick Norcross, who also made numerous appearance in TOWIE.
He tragically died by suicide aged 57 in 2021.
Spanning 13,000 square feet and boasting four floors, the property is now on sale for $3,850,000.
The nightclub and restaurant cover the first two storeys, while offices and staff accommodation cover the latter two.
The listing says: “The property is arranged across the basement, ground and two upper floors.
“Formerly a public house, the property, which is Grade II Listed, has been reconfigured to trade as a nightclub and restaurant on the ground and first floors with ancillary offices and staff accommodation on the second floor.
“At ground level there is an attractive galleried courtyard providing outside space.”
Norcross sold The Sugar Hut in 2019, for an undisclosed sum, years after he claimed he didn’t want it to be associated with Towie anymore.
He told The Sun in 2013: “My club is an upmarket venue where people come to drink champagne and feel spoiled.
“All these rows they keep filming don’t show the club in a good light and I’m worried it’s putting people off coming, which is the last thing I want.”
BACK TO REALITY
TOWIE’s future has been revealed after the cast learned the fate of the show ahead of the series 34 finale.
The latest series of Towie wrapped up on Sunday night and The Sun can exclusively reveal stars including Ella Rae Wise and Amy Childs were informed last week whether or not the show will be returning.
Fans have enjoyed some of the most dramatic episodes in years, including the Joe Blackman, Harry Derbidge and Junaid Ahmed love triangle and Ella’s on/off relationship with Dan Edgar.
And we can reveal The Only Way Is Essex will return for a 35th series next year.
An insider said: “The cast got word late last week that Towie will be back for another series, which will film early next year.
“They were all relieved as while it’s been running for years, there is never any guarantee the show will return – especially in these challenging times when there are so many new fresh shows on the block.
“There is always the fear that viewers will get bored, or the channel will want to spend their budget on something different, so until that call comes through none of the cast can fully relax.”
Towie first launched in 2010 and made stars of the likes of Mark Wright, Sam Faiers and Lauren Goodger.
Series 34 might have ended but fans won’t have to wait long until it’s back on screens.
The Sun recently told how the show’s Christmas special will return this year for the first time since 2021.
The bumper Only Way Is Essexmas episode will air for 90 minutes and feature the main cast.
