I forked out for a blowout at the new Fenty pop-up – I left looking like a Russian DOLL, it wasn’t what I’d asked for
A WOMAN was left looking like ”a Russian doll” after her visit to the new Fenty pop-up went horribly wrong.
Launched earlier this summer, Fenty Hair – an extension of Rihanna’s beauty universe – has unveiled a pop-up store in Selfridges in London.

As well as checking out the latest haircare essentials, customers can also take advantage of a variety of styling sessions only available at the luxury department store.
However, whilst the pop-up may be all the rage amongst RiRi’s fans, one woman recently left the salon ”disappointed”.
According to the make-up lover Mimi, she had booked in for a blowout and ”got the exact opposite” of what she had asked for.
Sharing the footage of the hair-rific results on TikTok, the stunner said the makeover cost her ”£35 which is redeemable in the end”.
Before visiting the pink-themed pop-up store, Mimi had made sure her Rapunzel-like tresses were a little bit damp to ensure the best results – but the stylist went in and dried her locks fully.
”I didn’t say anything at first cause I thought ‘Okay, maybe it’s part of the process’ – however, she ended up curling my hair and I did ask her to blow-dry it,” Mimi explained everything in the video.
Despite the staff member claiming the curls would loosen up and ”turn into a blowout”, the results couldn’t have been anything further from a sexy Victoria’s Secret Angels hairdo.
Mortified by the tight ringlet curls, Mimi said the visit to the pop-up left her looking like ”a Russian doll”.
”My hair was not great for the evening,” the brunette beauty cried in the comments, describing the transformation as ”horrible”.
”I didn’t expect it to be soo bad,” she went on, after some people claimed they’d heard ”so many bad things about this salon from ALL hair types”.
To make matters worse, Mimi also had her birthday the next day and although the stylist had attempted to brush out the curls it resulted in Mimi looking like she ”got electrocuted”.
Since being posted on the platform, where Mimi uploads content under the username @mimizino_official, the video has racked up more than a whopping 151k views in just two days.
Just as horrified, dozens flocked to comments, with one social media user writing: ”Naaah i’d be furious.”
Someone else shared their horror story, commenting: ”They did this exact thing to my sister and me.
Expert advice on how often we should really be washing our hair
HAVE you ever wondered how often you should be washing your hair?
According to stylist Scott Miller of Bauhaus salons in Cardiff, Wales, washing every day may be too much – and some people only need to wash once a week.
Hopefully, you’re bathing yourself daily – but that doesn’t mean you need to wash your hair along with your body.
Miller said that washing your hair every day, as some people do, might be overkill – and overwashing your scalp and strands will stimulate the sebaceous glands to produce more oil, making it more greasy.
He told Wales Online: “Unless you’ve been working really hard at the gym or have been on a building site and it’s covered in dust – you don’t need to wash your hair every day.
“There’s a big #nopoo movement at the moment, with people boasting about going weeks without shampooing, but for most of us, cutting out one or two washes will make a big difference.”
The frequency with which you should wash your hair depends on several factors, including your hair type, lifestyle, and personal preferences. Here are some general guidelines:
Hair Type:
Oily Hair: If you have oily hair, you might need to wash it more frequently, such as every day or every other day, to keep it looking fresh.
Dry Hair: Those with dry hair should aim to wash it less often, perhaps once or twice a week, to avoid stripping the hair of its natural oils.
Normal Hair: If your hair is neither too oily nor too dry, washing it two to three times a week is usually sufficient.
Lifestyle:
Active Lifestyle: If you exercise regularly or sweat a lot, you may need to wash your hair more frequently to remove sweat and dirt.
Less Active Lifestyle: If you’re less active, you can extend the time between washes.
Scalp Health:
Dandruff or Scalp Conditions: If you have dandruff or other scalp conditions, consult a dermatologist for specific advice, as you may need to use specialised shampoos more frequently.
Hair Treatments:
Coloured or Chemically Treated Hair: If your hair is coloured or chemically treated, you may need to wash it less often to preserve the treatment and prevent damage.
Personal Preference:
Ultimately, how often you wash your hair is a personal choice. Some people prefer the feel of freshly washed hair, while others find that washing less frequently works better for them.
”They apologised, let us pick makeup products instead of forcing us to purchase a hair product and gave us some free miniatures.”
”I’ve heard so many bad things about this place,” someone else chimed in, urging others to steer clear of the pop-up.
”I can’t even do hair I can do better than that,” a fourth joked.
