Teenager injured after police chase ends in crash
A police chase has ended in chaos after three vehicles crashed on an A-road.
A teenager and a woman were injured after a police pursuit ended on the hard shoulder of the A406 Crooked Billet roundabout in Walthamstow, east London.
Two officers also sustained minor injuries.
The crash happened after a car collided with another vehicle on the busy roundabout shortly before 3pm.
Metropolitan Police said the pursuit was authorised after a car escaped from officers on Cooks Ferry roundabout.
It sparked a major emergency response with the ambulance service, fire brigade and the air ambulance in attendance.
Met Police said: ‘The driver and passenger of the car, a 33-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy, were taken to hospital where their injuries were not life-threatening. Enquiries are ongoing.’
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said it received reports of a crash at the junction of Chingford Road and Billet Road, Chingford, at about 2.59pm.
They said: ‘We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, an incident response officer and London’s Air Ambulance.
‘The first of our crews arrived at the scene in three minutes.’
