Topeka dentistry on 16th year of Halloween candy buyback
TOPEKA (KSNT) - Do you have some extra Halloween candy you're looking to get rid of? One Topeka business will pay you to take it off your hands.
Sunflower Smiles Dentistry will be paying people one dollar for every pound of candy they bring in starting Monday, Nov. 4 through Thursday, Nov. 7th. This tradition has been going on for 16 long and successful years.
"The most we've bought back is around 300 pounds," dentist Dr. Michael Browning said. "A lot of times it's in the 200 pound range, but it just depends on the year and how much candy comes in."
After each week of collecting candy, the dentistry donates a certain number to local non-profits. This year, it will donate $16 per pound of candy to the Topeka Impact Foundation. All the candy brought in will go directly to veterans serving oversees.
You can stop by Sunflower Smiles Dentistry at any time between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. this week Monday-Thursday.
