Hawley campaign scrambles to block protester's sign mocking him as 'Posh Josh'
Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) held a campaign event in a private plane hanger, which KSDK News' Mark Maxwell called a "fly-by campaign stop."
Behind Hawley was a protester holding a sign saying "posh Josh," a reference to the Senator using private jet travel. The Missouri Independent reported in October that the campaign spent "more than $132,000 on chartered flights between mid-December and June" on the private jet.
"Campaign staff quickly blocked her sign with larger Hawley signs," reported Maxwell. "Hawley left in a hurry without taking any questions from press."

Hawley's communications director objected to Maxwell's characterization of the ordeal and said that Hawley took questions at the start of the event and that Maxwell shouldn't have shown up so late.
Maxwell responded: "We were there early."
The communications director doubled down, saying that if he had been there early, he "would have seen" Hawley "talking to the press."
Hawley's opponent, Lucas Kunce, has combined the private plane travel with a claim that the senator is rarely in the state. During the recent candidate debate, Kunce said that Hawley didn't take it well when he was challenged on treating the state like a "fly-over country."
