Pelosi’s claim of Trump’s 'deteriorating' brain sparks war of words with his campaign
Donald Trump’s campaign didn’t hold back in its thoughts of Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) after the former house speaker bashed Trump’s “cognitive degeneration” over the weekend, sparking a terse pre-Election Day response in which Pelosi is referred to as “decrepit” and “corrupt.”
The latest back and forth between the two political foes began Sunday when Pelosi was asked on MSNBC how she felt about Trump encouraging shooters to aim at reporters at a Pennsylvania rally.
“I think what the ex-president just said is a further indication of his cognitive degeneration,” Pelosi said. She added: “I think people who are thinking about voting for him have to know that he can’t last as president for four years with his brain deteriorating at the rate that it is and it’s clearly evident and they may be voting for President [J.D.] Vance, which would be a horrible thing for our country.”

Trump campaign national press secretary Karoline Leavitt hit back Monday, telling Fox News Digital that Pelosi is “decrepit” and the only one who was “deteriorating.”
“The only thing deteriorating is Nancy Pelosi who is a decrepit washed up corrupt politician who America can no longer stand,” Leavitt said in the statement to the conservative news outlet. "She should go back to the City of San Francisco, which she has totally destroyed, and never return."
Neither Pelosi nor Trump are particularly popular with the American public. A Real Clear Politics average of polls shows Pelosi with a favorability rating of roughly 34% while Trump polled at 45%.
