'Shocked' senator baffled by Trump’s closing argument: ‘More cavities?’
Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) knocked former President Donald Trump on the final day of the 2024 campaign by poking fun at one of his campaign's closing messages before Election Day, jabbing: “I guess they are ending with ‘more cavities?”
“I will note that I was a little shocked that one of their closing arguments for Donald Trump was, 'Take the fluoride out of water?' I guess they are ending with ‘more cavities?” Klobuchar asked, rhetorically, Monday during an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer. “This doesn't make sense, and to me, you have seen Kamala Harris from the beginning unite our party and immediately reach out to independents and Republicans.”
Klobuchar’s comments came days after Trump said it sounded “okay” to go along with advice floated by former independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a defiant anti-vaccine conspiracy theorist, calling for the removal of fluoride from tap water.

Klobuchar concluded her interview by saying that she has a “strong belief” that voters “can’t handle the chaos of Donald Trump.”
“It is based on what we saw in 2022 and since the Dobbs decision in states like what Kansas, on their referendum, Ohio, 13 points on their referendum, Supreme Court race in Wisconsin…an overwhelming number of people say this is going too far and enough is enough,” she said. “If you will infringe on my freedoms to make my decision about health care what else are you going to do to me? You are going to be surprised in how many people are turning out and how many are voting on freedom and their deep belief in democracy.”
“She’s running on freedom. He’s running on, I guess cavities. I don't know. It’s just a mess on the other side,” Klobuchar said.
Klobuchar faces MAGA Senate candidate Royce White on Tuesday, with a recent poll showing Klobuchar leading by double-digits.
