FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Well above average temperatures stay through the start of the new work week. Under partly cloudy skies, highs will reach the mid 70s in Central Ohio. Winds will be very breezy at times. There is a very small chance for a light spotty shower, but again most of the area will stay dry.
During the night the partly cloudy skies will continue along with the breezy conditions. It will also be a very mild night with lows falling to the upper 60s. Right now the overnight low temperatures are warmer than the average daytime highs for this time of year.
By Election Day Tuesday there will be increasing wind speeds with gusts well over 30 mph at times. Highs Tuesday will return to the upper 70s, which already 20 degrees above average for this time of year. There is a good likelihood that Columbus will break the record high as well. The current record high of 77 was set back in 2022.
A cold front will bring rain shower chances by the late evening and overnight hours. The wet weather is expected to stick around for the next couple of days, but not a lot of it is expected. Forecast rain totals between Tuesday through Thursday will be only around a quarter of an inch. Even after the cold front passes above average temperatures stick around all work week.
