'I sweat': Trump uses bizarre imitation to attack Harris as campaign nears end
Donald Trump's nightly routine includes kissing a misleading chart before sleeping, he said Monday — unlike Vice President Kamala Harris who he says stays awake restlessly sweating in bed.
The bizarre description came during the former president's closing argument to voters.
Trump's oration on the state of 2024 presidential election year slumber bookended a tirade about Mexico that was delivered at a campaign rally in North Carolina.
"I sleep with that chart and I kiss it every time before I go to bed and I wouldn't be here without that chart and if you take a look at the arrow on the bottom, that was the day I left office," Trump said.
The chart to which Trump referred was his "Illegal Immigration into the U.S." graph — which Rep. Robert Garcia told Congress contains a "huge lie" about the former president's impact on southern border crossings — and which appeared in Right Side Broadcasting Network's coverage of the Monday event.
He then swung into his imitation of Harris. "I was sleeping, turning and tossing, sweating because when I sleep, I turn and I toss and I sweat," he said, pretending to be her.
It served as an opening for Trump to touch on several Mexico-related concerns.
Topics included immigration during his administration ("pretty good"), past threats to tariff on Mexico ("they said we would be greatly honored to let you have our soldiers free of charge"), his partially built border wall ("nobody talks about it"), Mexico's president ("I suppose a very nice woman"), and his announcement of a new tariff proposal because, Trump claimed, "they are ripping us off left and right."

Trump then claimed he had not yet revealed his proposal for a 25 percent tariff on Mexico because he was afraid Harris would steal it.
"I wanted to wait until today because I don't want to have her, she's a low I.Q. individual," Trump said. "I don't want to have her say, I had an idea last night while I was sleeping."
Trump then transitioned to discussing his own hectic schedule as he ran for president — something he assured the crowd he did not have to do.
"When you are running for the President of the United States, and you want to do it because you have to fix the country, that is why I am doing it," Trump said. "I could be at the most gorgeous beaches of the world but I would much rather be with you people."
