Strictly star reveals he’s making shock comeback for final show after being booted off
A FORMER Strictly Come Dancing star is heading back to the ballroom despite being kicked off the contest and sustaining nasty injuries.
The TV star was previously forced to pull out of a live show and ended up on crutches after falling and injuring his knee during a dress rehearsal jump.
Presenter Nick Knowles, 62, faced a second setback after badly injuring his shoulder and arm while changing a car tyre.
The DIY SOS star posted a photograph showcasing his injuries and told followers on social media: “So got a new bicep support and knee brace. Look like Aldi Iron Man.
“Can’t wait to get fit again so I can continue dancing – I’m hoping to make it in time for the Xmas end of series shows. Wish me luck.”
The star is hoping to be in good enough shape to take part in the end of series extravaganza to mark the final of the show’s 20th anniversary.
On his exit, he told fans: “Well that’s the end of the road for me on @bbcstrictly.
“But after the injury last week, getting back on the dance floor felt like a win in itself!
“Gutted I couldn’t stay longer to bring the amazing dances super talented @lubamushtuk had planned to life, but it’s been a fantastic journey.
“Wishing the best of luck to all the competitors – they’re such a lovely bunch.
“It’s been a lot of fun, and a reminder that it’s never too late to try something new!
“Thank you so much to everyone for all their support.”
Although he was disappointed to leave the competition, he admitted it was time for him to leave.
He told fans at the time: “It was the right result. I had a week off and you can see actually everyone had progressed a lot in that week, I just didn’t have time to be able to catch up and do well enough to stay in the competition.
“I think it was the right result in the end and it means I can now get the various bits of me that are falling off sorted out.
“Literally, I might have an operation on the arm this week and then another operation on the knee in a couple or three weeks’ time. So I can get myself sorted.”
