With Election Day less than 24 hours away, Vice President Kamala Harris and Former President Donald Trump are making their last-ditch efforts to appeal to voters. Also, a top-ranked local high school football team is under investigation after the school was notified of sexual misconduct allegations among the students on the team. 1. Trump, Harris make last ditch plea to voters ahead of Election Day
Former President Trump and Vice President Harris are making their final pitch to voters ahead of Election Day, seeking any last minute advantage with the race essentially a dead heat.
2. Community shares concerns, top-ranked NY high school football team under investigation
The Lake George, Warrensburg, and Bolton football team will not be returning to the field this season after the school was notified of sexual misconduct allegations among students on the team. The team was undefeated this season and ranked top in the state.
3. Malta man accused of hitting Trooper, tow truck driver
A Malta man is remanded to Albany County Jail without bail after allegedly hitting a New York State Police Trooper and tow truck driver just before Exit 7 on the Northway on Saturday. Troopers said Jason J. Guerin, 40, is charged with first-degree aggravated vehicular assault, driving while ability impaired by drugs and more.
4. Music titan Quincy Jones dies at 91
Quincy Jones, the multi-talented music titan whose vast legacy ranged from producing Michael Jackson’s historic “Thriller” album to writing prize-winning film and television scores and collaborating with Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles and hundreds of other recording artists, has died at 91.
5. Final day of early voting in New York State
Sunday was the last day that New Yorkers could cast their vote early. All other voters will have to vote on November 5. According to those at the Saratoga County Board of Elections, more voters showed up to the polls early, prompting the county to open the polling sites an hour early on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
