WAPA COMMENDS LEADERSHIP OF LATEEF JAKANDE ACADEMY
The Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA), Mrs. Bolaji Cecilia Dada has commended the leadership of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy (LJLA).
Speaking during a visit of the Academy, led by the Executive Secretary, Mrs. Aishat Okunade to the Ministry on Thursday, Hon. Dada said all the fellows of the Academy that have been deployed to the Ministry are a true reflection of what the Academy represents, which is grooming young men and women.
She said the commitment to fostering leadership development and empowerment is truly commendable, adding that the Ministry is always willing to collaborate with the Academy.
Dada said that she has had the honour of attending several of the academy programmes, and can personally attest to the positive impact they have had on participants.
She said the Academy empowers individuals and equips them with the necessary leadership skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in various fields, thus contributing to the socio-economic development of our beloved state.
In her remarks, the Executive Secretary of the academy, Mrs. Aisha Okunade said the visit signifies the Academy’s dedication to leadership, and appealed for continuous collaborative opportunities, between the Ministry and the Academy inorder to focus on ways to further amplify the collective impact of both organisations.
In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Oluyemi Kalesanwo thanked the team for the visit, adding that the Ministry looks forward to strengthening WAPA’s collaboration with the Academy.
