The ITV game show welcomed a new face when Aussie star Issa ‘The Supernerd’ Schultz stepped in for Anne, who had to miss filming due to health reasons.

Issa’s accolades include eight victories at the Australian Quizzing Championships between 2011 and 2021, along with appearances on shows like The Rich List and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?
Chaser Shaun Wallace expressed his enthusiasm when Issa joined the team, posting, “The Super Nerd was just super! Issa it was an absolute pleasure to work with you again. I hope that will happen sooner rather than later.”
Issa responded, “So awesome sitting alongside you good sir! Your knowledge is sensational and you made me feel right at home. Looking forward to next time.”
Anne, who goes by ‘The Governess’ nickmame, had shared the reason for her absence on X in 2022, explaining, “Unfortunately I’ve contracted Covid-19 so won’t be filming this series of #BeatTheChasers.”
Despite her temporary absence, she kept fans updated and, after testing negative, tweeted: “#lurgyfree #butstillselfisolating.”
Beat The Chasers launched in April 2020 as a spin-off of the original The Chase, which began in 2009 with Mark Labbett and Shaun Wallace.
Anne, a core part of the show since 2010, has appeared in hundreds of episodes, cementing her place as a fan favorite.
The ever-busy star recently steered her career in a different direction by starring in the brand new film, Exorcising Barry.
Anne will take on the role of an intrusive neighbour, peering over the fence at a fake “priest” who has been hired to stage an exorcism.
The light hearted comedy mixed with horror sees London-born Anne transforming her voice as she attempts a Northern accent.
Co-star Joshua Ford revealed to The Express that Anne’s change in accent was perfect as he said: “Anne just had the most flawless Northern accent you could possibly imagine and it just killed us. She’s hilarious… I don’t think this will be her last film.”
The film, which was created on a micro budget of £3000 and saw The Chase star take no payment for being involved, is set to air at film festivals.
