ACADIANA (KLFY) -- Election Day is just around the corner but many voters have already cast their ballots during the early voting period. Here's the breakdown of early voting numbers across Acadiana.
News 10 spoke with the local Registrar of Voters offices to get the breakdown.
Parishes that saw an increase in early voters:
- Acadia Parish - 9,597 in 2020 versus 9,714 in 2024
- Lafayette Parish - 49,161 in 2020 versus 55,156 in 2024
- St. Landry Parish - 10,760 in 2020 versus 12,690 in 2024
- Vermilion Parish - 10,592 in 2020 versus 10 783 in 2024
Parishes that saw a decrease:
- St. Martin Parish - 13,640 in 2020 versus 12,787 in 2024
- Iberia Parish - 14,687 in 2020 versus 13,814 in 2024
Jeff Davis Parish's early turnout was unchanged as it had the same turnout of 6,223 early votes in 2020 and 2024.
