When is Red Cup Day? Starbucks drops a big hint
(WGN-TV) – We've turned the calendar to November and the holiday season is here. And there is no surer sign that it's Christmastime than the beloved Red Cup Day at Starbucks.
Each year, Starbucks celebrates the start of the holiday season by giving away free, reusable cups to customers who purchase a seasonal beverage.
On Friday, Starbucks gave a big clue to the date on its Instagram. It included a photo of a present with a gift tag shaped like a red cup with "11/7" written on it. The caption said only "Holiday cheer is almost here" but fans can read between those lines.
Red Cup Day typically coincides with the release of Starbucks holiday menu as well.
Just this week, Starbucks announced they will no longer charge extra for non-dairy milk in the U.S. also starting Nov. 7. Substituting non-dairy milk, such as soymilk, oat milk, almond milk, or coconut milk, is currently the second most popular customization among Starbucks customers, just after adding a shot of espresso, according to a press release from the company.
Starbucks will also be getting rid of its olive oil-infused coffee lineup.
