When we walk into Costco this time of year, we know our budget is about to take a serious hit. And since Costco’s prices are so reasonable, you know that the reason for our wallet-busting trips is simply that there is too much good stuff throughout the store this time of year. We’re on the hunt for holiday gifts, hosting essentials, bulk baking ingredients, and, of course, special sweet treats. The Costco bakery section always delivers when it comes to that last point. This year, a celebratory confection has been spotted that we aren’t sure we’ve seen before: Kirkland Signature Peppermint Bark.
Instagram user CostcoHotFinds alerted the masses to this find. “It’s so soft and just melts in your mouth,” she reported. The peppermint bark was found in the Costco bakery section. It’s made with a layer of dark chocolate and a layer of white chocolate that get topped with crushed peppermint candy. Not only is it a fabulous treat to snack on throughout the season, but it’s also delicious added to baked goods like cookies and brownies. You can also repackage it into cellophane bags or cute tins as part of a holiday care package full of goodies.
Costco members (sign up here) should look for this sweet treat in stores now. But what if you don’t have a Costco nearby, or aren’t a member? There are a few ways to get your chocolate peppermint fix! If you like to cook (or even if you don’t!), homemade peppermint bark is actually really easy to make, and you can follow our tutorial here.
But you can also buy peppermint bark online. You can find it on Amazon, and Williams Sonoma’s Peppermint Bark is a true holiday classic. We’re obsessed with the sampler, which includes classic peppermint bark, dark chocolate peppermint bark, and our favorite: salted peppermint bark.
Halloween may be over, but thanks to these peppermint bark options, our seasonal candy feasting has only just begun!
