Peacock renews ‘Days of Our Lives’ for its 61st (!) season on the eve of ‘Day of Days’ fan event
“Days of Our Lives” is sticking around. The beloved soap opera has been renewed for its 61st season by Peacock. (The series moved to that streaming service in 2022 after airing on NBC since 1965.) The pick-up news comes on the eve of “Day of Days,” the annual fan event held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, which will take place on Saturday, November 2 — more on that below.
Peacock has been the exclusive home to “Days of Our Lives” for the past two years. That’s where viewers can access past seasons, plus new episodes every weekday. The series has consistently been a Top 10 title for Peacock since it made the big move from NBC. On December 2, 2024, “Days of Our Lives” will celebrate its 15,000th overall episode.
Over the past six decades, “Days of Our Lives” has won 62 Daytime Emmy Awards and received 392 total nominations. Earlier this year, the show made Daytime Emmys history when 98-year-old actor Dick Van Dyke took home the trophy for his guest star appearance as Timothy Robicheaux/Mr. Doe, becoming the oldest person ever to prevail.
Suzanne Rogers as Maggie Horton Kiriakis and Deidre Hall as Marlena Evans continue to be two of the longest-running “Days” cast members ever. Some of the other current stars include Carson Boatman, Raven Bowens, Tamara Braun, Elia Cantu, Bryan Dattilo, Mary Beth Evans, Dan Feuerriegel, Billy Flynn, Galen Gering, Linsey Godfrey, Stacy Haiduk, Jackée Harry, Abigail Klein, Eric Martsolf, Stephen Nichols, Ashley Puzemis, James Reynolds, Josh Taylor, Paul Telfer, and Robert Scott Wilson.
At this year’s “Day of Days” event, attendees will experience countless surprises in honor of the current milestone 60th season. Fans can meet their favorite cast members in person, participate in autograph signings, pose in photo opps featuring backdrops from the series, purchase celebratory merchandise, and so much more.
“Days of Our Lives” is set in the fictional town of Salem, Illinois and focuses primarily on the Brady family and the Horton family. The series is produced by Corday Productions Inc. in association with Sony Pictures Television.
