Today is the day, y’all. The Halloween candy has been distributed, Mariah Carey is all thawed out and we are ready for the very best time of year to begin. If you are a Grinch, this is not the place for you, I am sorry to say. But I am not sorry to say that Netflix understood the assignment and just released its 2024 slate of brand-new holiday movies and shows.
That’s right — you might still have jack-o’-lanterns chillin’ on your porch, but Nov. 1 is here and that means it’s time to watch Netflix movies about a hot snowman. Yes, one of the new titles is literally “Hot Frosty” and it stars our “Mean Girls” queen Lacey Chabert as a grieving widow so ready for love she’s apparently got eyes for a hot snowman. If you had no idea this holiday viewing season was going to be super lit, now you know.

“The Merry Gentleman,” starring Chad Michael Murray and Marla Sokoloff, is the classic trope of a failing small-town theater and a big-city girly ready to bring the Christmas equivalent of Magic Man to help save it. Do we think she will succeed? Most definitely. Does that lack of any real suspense stop us from watching it? Not a chance.
Lacey isn’t the only former Mean Girl headlining her own Netflix Christmas movie. Lindsay Lohan stars in “Our Little Secret” alongside “Pretty Little Liars” alum Ian Harding. They play a pair of resentful exes forced to spend the holidays together when they discover their new partners are actually siblings. Talk about awkward. Obviously, I can’t wait to see it.
