NYC Cronut creator partners with Eleven Madison Park for pastry pop-up event
NEW YORK (PIX11) — Dominique Ansel, the creator of New York City’s world-famous Cronut, has partnered with Eleven Madison Park to create a pastry box of sweet treats.
Eleven Madison Park's executive chef, Laura Cronin, has created a plant-based Cronut filled with raspberry jam and hazelnut cookie ganache to be distributed at a pop-up on Saturday.
Named the "Make it Nice X Dominique Ansel Bakery pastry duo," this event is a one-time opportunity. It will occur at 11 Madison Ave. in Manhattan at 11 a.m. The shop will remain open until the last pastry is sold.
“The Cronut pastry is a unique creation,” event organizers said. “The creation is not to be mistaken as simply a croissant that’s been fried; it is made with a laminated dough which has been likened to a croissant (but uses a proprietary recipe). The entire process takes up to three days.”
A two-piece treat box will cost $18. It includes the Raspberry and Hazelnut Linzer Cookie Cronut and a Roasted Chestnut and Chocolate Madison Square.
