CARL ALBERT STATE COLLEGE FACULTY AND STAFF RECEIVE TOP HONORS AT OACC CONFERENCE
Carl Albert State College proudly announces that several of its esteemed faculty and staff received top awards at the recent Oklahoma Association of Community Colleges (OACC) Conference held in Tulsa, underscoring the college’s commitment to excellence and innovation in education.
Jerri Hobday, a distinguished member of the faculty, received the prestigious Outstanding Faculty Award for her contributions to the academic success and personal development of students. Her dedication to teaching and unwavering commitment to her students make her a valuable asset to CASC.
In the area of creative classroom innovation, Susan Hill and Chad Brown were honored with the GIFT (Great Ideas for Teaching) Award. This award celebrates innovative instructional practices, and winners receive a $500 prize. Together, Susan and Chad developed an engaging crime scene activity for Freshman Composition I students, which has inspired interest and critical thinking in the writing process.
Also celebrated were Tammy Hale, Bookstore Supervisor at the Sallisaw Campus, who received the Outstanding Support Staff Award, and Chuck Lewis, Director of the Physical Plant, recognized with the Outstanding Professional Staff Award. Both have shown exemplary commitment to fostering a supportive and efficient campus environment for students and staff alike.
