Here’s your first look at Barry Keoghan in the ‘Peaky Blinders’ movie
By order of the Peaky Blinders — and Netflix — here is a first look at Barry Keoghan in the upcoming “Peaky Blinders” film.
The image, released Friday, shows the Oscar nominee leaning outside of a car window — and yes, he’s donning the trademark Peaky Blinders newsboy cap, so we can safely assume he’s part of Tommy Shelby’s (Cillian Murphy) gang. Keoghan joined the project in August. No details about his character have been released.
In September, Keoghan told Entertainment Weekly that he was “excited and nervous” to be part of “Peaky Blinders” and is a “massive, massive fan” of the show. “I can’t wait for that,” he said. “Cillian’s a good friend and I f—ing admire him as an actor as well.”

Production on “Peaky Blinders” began in September. The film, which takes place during World War II, is written by series creator Steven Knight and will be directed by Tom Harper, who helmed three episodes in “Peaky’s” first season. The cast also includes franchise newcomers Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, and Jay Lycurgo. In addition, Stephen Graham, Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee, and Ian Peck will reprise their roles from the series.
Since “Peaky” wrapped up its six-season run in 2022, Knight had been open about his desire to make a follow-up film. In April, he told NME that they were all “ready to go.”
“”I think the film is gonna be a step up again, and it’s gonna be great that ‘Peaky’ fans can meet in one place and watch it,” Knight said. “The budget will be bigger, but also because we know we’re ending this chapter, we’re all going to try to do our best.”
