Secret Sky remote trick gives you handy bonus feature if you hold button down for long enough

YOU can turn your TV on and off with your Sky remote.

Normally when you press the power button, it would only affect the Sky box itself.

But if you hold the power button down for a few seconds, it’ll switch your TV on or off instead.

Try it to see if it works.

If it doesn’t, it means you haven’t set your TV remote up to control your TV.

Doing that is very simple, and only takes about a minute.

HOW TO CONTROL TV WITH SKY REMOTE

Grab your TV remote and then hold 1 and 3 together on the keypad to apri it.

Then choose Continue and enter the brand of TV, then choose Find It For Me.

Press Continue and scroll through the list until you find your TV brand and model.

Then press the volume buttons on the Sky Q remote to see if it changes the volume. If it does then it’s work.

If not, hold down 7 and 9 to reset the remote and try again.

Then the power button trick should work for you.

SKY TIPS AND TRICKS

There are some other Sky TV tips and tricks worth trying too.

First, there’s an easy way to find your TV remote if you’ve managed to lose it.

Head over to your Sky box and hit the big Sky Q logo in the middle.

Yes, it’s a button – and it’ll cause your TV remote to beep for 30 seconds.

If you still can’t find it, then maybe the remote is dead, out of range, or not properly paired.

Once you do find it, press any button and the beeping will stop right away.

Another clever trick is for skipping ads when you’re watching TV.

If you’ve got a Sky voice remote, just press the microphone button and say “fast-forward three minutes”.

And if you’re watching Recorded content, it’ll blast passed the ads without you having to manually fast-forward.

Third, there’s another clever voice trick for finding movies when you can’t remember their names.

Sky actually lets you voice-search using famous quotes from movies or TV shows.

Just say the quote into the microphone while holding down the voice search and it should work.
