Ja Morant threw an alley-oop from his butt
Only Ja Morant could pull this off.
Ja Morant plays with a creative flare that few other players in the NBA can match. The Memphis Grizzlies point guard is back in the lineup this season after missing most of last year due to injury and suspension, and still creating plays that only he could dream up.
Morant had his best game of the young season on Thursday night against the lifeless Milwaukee Bucks, finishing 26 points, 14 assists, and 10 rebounds for the triple-double. The Bucks are in big, big trouble at 1-4 on the year, and the Giannis Antetokounmpo trade speculation will only get louder with each loss. Memphis beat the Bucks, 126-99, despite being on the second half of a back-to-back and playing without Desmond Bane.
As the Grizzlies were pulling away from Milwaukee, Morant threw an alley-oop that showcased his brilliant creativity. After diving on the floor to recover a loose ball, Morant was sitting down on the court needing to get rid of the ball. He directed teammate Santi Aldama to cut to the basket with his eyes, and threw a perfect alley-oop from his butt. Watch the play here:

You’ve heard of the ‘butt fumble’ and maybe you remember the ‘butt interception.’ A butt alley-oop is just next level.
The NBA is more fun when the Grizzlies are healthy and led by Morant’s remarkable talent. As long as he stays on the floor, magical moments like this one will keep happening.
