I’m a curvy mum & found the best wardrobe staples in Primark – the £14 satin skirts are great if you’ve got a belly
STRUGGLING to find the perfect style that not only looks good but keeps you warm?
Look no further than Primark for all you autumn and winter wardrobe staples – from cosy jumpers to stylish skirts, they’ve got it all.
The Primark haul was not only budget-friendly but perfect if you want to look stylish and feel comfortable[/caption] The trendy chocolate brown look is perfect for autumn and winter[/caption]Rosie Henshaw recently showed off some of her top picks from the retailer and they’ve perfect if you’re a curvy girl.
The fashion fan took to YouTube to share her latest haul as she explained the best way to style the new-in items.
Frist up, Rosie tried on a stunning black V-neck jumper, which you could pair with just about anything for a trendy autumnal look.
“It’s the most gorgeous jumper but what I love about it is this really nice jersey stretchy material.
“And it’s knitted but it’s almost like elastin, so you know it’s not going to go bobbly,” Rosie said.
The jumper is from the maternity section, so Rosie picked it up in a size small rather than her usual size 16 – 18.
The £16 jumper also features 70s inspired bell sleeves and size splits for some added detail.
Rosie paired the timeless jumper with a black knitted skirt for a trendy co-ord look, but you could match it with just about anything in your wardrobe.
She also sized down to a small in the skirt since it’s also from the maternity range, and it looked like it was made for her.
“I had on tights and chunky boots when I tried this one and it actually looked really lovely on, such a good outfit,” she said.
Next, the fashion fan tried on the same stunning jumper, this time in a chocolate brown colour that’s perfect for the colder months.
Paired with the matching knitted skirt, the outfit would be easy to dress up or down using just shoes and accessories.
She also showed how she’d style the co-ord to make it look the most flattering – by pairing it with a matching belt and tucking the front of the jumper in.
Sticking with the brown theme, the mum also nabbed a satin skirt from the Primark Edit collection, which was priced at just £14.
“I found this chocolate skirt and it’s got this ribbed stitch on the outside that gives it a very Zara style,” she said as she tried to skirt on.
The skirt has a zip fastening but still has an elastic waistband for ultimate comfort.
“This satin material won’t go funny [in the wash],” she raved.
Other shoppers loved the mini autumn haul and couldn’t wait to pick up some stunning wardrobe staples on their next Primark trip.
One said: “I totally agree maternity clothes can be such lovely shapes they all looked lovely.”
“All the pieces you bought are lovely, really like the satin skirt,” a second commented on the YouTube clip.
A third agreed: “I love your style and all the clothing hauls. Its great to have basic pieces you can keep for a long time to add to your wardrobe!”
“That chocolate shade really suits you, especially with your lovely hair colour! Love all the pieces. Thanks for the inspo,” someone else chimed in.
Primark's best buys for Autumn
Heading into Primark soon? Keep an eye out for these items.
Here, Fabulous fashion editor Clemmie Fieldsend reveals her top 6 buys from Primark this Autumn.
Coat, £60
I know what you’re thinking, ‘£60 for Primark?’ Yes it’s a higher price tag than we’re used to from Primark but its worth every penny.
It’s from their Edit range which is more premium than the rest of their collection and it’s made to last.
It’s a mixed wool blend which is durable and warm, plus its a timeless straight silhouette which is slightly oversized and will last you not only this season but for many after.
Bag, £16
Big bags are back… In a big way, finally.
This tote screams luxury with its croc effect and burnt orange colour, plus its great for shoving in your laptop, lunch, spare shoes, purse – essentially everything you need for the day – all for £16.
Jacket, £32
Field jackets are on the backs of celebrities and catwalk models this season with designer brands Barbour, Burberry and Bottega all championing the utilitarian look.
They’re great for chucking over jeans or contrasting with a floral or floaty dress and are the perfect transitional jacket.
Dress, £18,
You may have seen, heard and read that leopard print isn’t going anywhere for autumn, so to encapsulate the trend this dress is a must.
Sleeves? Check. Midi length? Check. Ultra flattering square neck? Check. It’s got it all.
Pair with black knee high boots or your favourite trainers for the day and dress up with gold heels and accessories for the evening.
Jeans, £16
Barrel, balloon, horseshoe – whatever you want to call them, they are the must have trouser shape of this season.
I’ve tried Primarks pair and they fit like a dream, are comfortable and flattering.
So if you think you have nothing that hits the trend mark, swapping your go-to denim for this shape will bring you bang up to date.
Boots, £24
It’s boot season and instead of feeling like you need to buy one in every colour, length, height – its best to stick to a pair that you can wear with the majority of your wardrobe.
My jaw almost hit the floor when I saw that this black, knee-high, block heel with flat point and side zip (so there’s no tug of war to get them off at the end of the day) was only £24.
If you buy one thing this season, it should be these.
