Christmas has landed in Aldi – with £3.99 decorations and ‘paint your own’ wooden toys that are even cheaper than Lidl’s
NOW that Halloween is over, Christmas has officially landed in Aldi.
The big day is only 54 days away, so if you want to get into the festive spirit and stock up on holiday buys, you’ve come to the right place.
And if you’re on a mission to turn your home into your very own Winter Wonderland, but don’t have thousands of pounds to splash on posh décor, it’s worth popping down to Aldi – as the German retailer has launched a huge variety of Christmas must-haves.
From tinsel wreaths and string lights, to Christmas figures and wooden toys, Aldi’s biggest Christmas décor range yet starts at just £1.99 – yes, you heard that correctly.
Offering shoppers everything they need to deck the halls for less, festive fans must act fast as with all Specialbuys once they’re gone, they’re gone.
Recently, shoppers desperately flocked to Aldi to check out the wooden toy event, which started on Thursday 10th October and sold out within minutes.
Just days later, Lidl launched their own wooden toy event – with prices from £6.29.
But if you want wooden toys that are even cheaper, it’s time to head back to Aldi.
It comes after the much-loved retailer took to social media to give shoppers a close-up look at the new buys, leaving many open-mouthed.
The chain shared the short clip with the caption ‘Christmas has arrived in the Middle Aisle! ‘What will you be grabbing first?’
Aldi then advised shoppers: “Run, don’t walk, Aldi Christmas decor.”
Not only are the middle aisles full with festive Specialbuys, but there’s also a selection of paint your own wooden toy decorations which little ones are sure to love.
The wooden craft kits are just £3.49 each and you can choose from a nutcracker, Christmas tree, bauble, reindeer and a snowman.
These fun buys are sure to get you into the festive spirit and will leave you with a cute memento that’ll look great on your mantelpiece.
Are the Christmas bits out earlier this year?
It often feels like Christmas decorations and products start appearing in stores earlier each year.
Retailers typically begin to stock Christmas items well before the holiday season to capitalise on early shoppers and to extend the buying period. Here are a few reasons why it might seem like Christmas bits are out earlier this year:
Extended Shopping Season
Retailers aim to extend the holiday shopping season to maximise sales. By putting out Christmas items earlier, they encourage people to start their holiday shopping sooner.
Consumer Demand
Some consumers prefer to plan and shop for Christmas well in advance, so stores cater to this demand by stocking holiday items earlier.
Marketing Strategy
Early displays of Christmas items can create a festive atmosphere and build anticipation, encouraging people to get into the holiday spirit and start spending.
Competition
Retailers compete to attract customers, and being the first to display holiday items can give them an edge.
Supply Chain Considerations
Given recent disruptions in global supply chains, stores might be putting out Christmas items earlier to ensure they have enough stock and to spread out the demand over a longer period.
Not only this, but if you want to brighten up your home for December, you’ll find warm white LED novelty string lights for only £3.99.
These bright lights are just what your Christmas tree needs and not only are they functional but they’re stylish too.
But if you want your neighbours to be impressed, you’ll also find tinsel wreaths for £3.99.
How to save money on Christmas shopping
Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how you can save money on your Christmas shopping.
Limit the amount of presents – buying presents for all your family and friends can cost a bomb.
Instead, why not organise a Secret Santa between your inner circles so you’re not having to buy multiple presents.
Plan ahead – if you’ve got the stamina and budget, it’s worth buying your Christmas presents for the following year in the January sales.
Make sure you shop around for the best deals by using price comparison sites so you’re not forking out more than you should though.
Buy in Boxing Day sales – some retailers start their main Christmas sales early so you can actually snap up a bargain before December 25.
Delivery may cost you a bit more, but it can be worth it if the savings are decent.
Shop via outlet stores – you can save loads of money shopping via outlet stores like Amazon Warehouse or Office Offcuts.
They work by selling returned or slightly damaged products at a discounted rate, but usually any wear and tear is minor.
They’re sure to add sparkle and flair to your front door and are available in a variety of colours.
As well as this, there’s also six foot Christmas inflatables for just £19.99, which will ensure you sleigh your outdoor decorations this year.
Not only are they easy to inflate, but they’ll turn your home into a Winter Wonderland in no time at all.
