What New Jersey voters need to know on Election Day 2024
NEW JERSEY (PIX11) – On Election Day, New Jersey residents will vote on several local seats in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, along with deciding the next president of the United States.
The deadline to register to vote in New Jersey was on Oct. 15. New Jersey voters have several options to cast their ballot, including early voting, vote-by-mail, and in-person voting on Nov. 5.

There was also a special election held in September to temporarily fill the seat of Rep. Donald Payne Jr., who died in April at 65. Democrat LaMonica McIver won the election, taking over Payne's open seat. McIver will again face off against Republican Carmen Bucco in the general election.

Check if you're registered to vote in New Jersey
To check to see if you're registered to vote in New Jersey, click here. You had to register by Oct. 15 to participate in this year's election.
Early voting in New Jersey
Early voting will be held from Oct. 26 to Nov. 3. You can vote early and in-person from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays leading up to Nov. 5.

If you decide to vote on Election Day, polling hours in New Jersey are from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Find your voting location
Every registered voter is assigned a location to cast their ballot on Election Day. New Jersey has a polling place search tool that you can use to see where you should go to vote. To find your voting location, click here.
Mail-in voting
If you decide to vote by mail, you must request a ballot no less than a week before Election Day, according to the New Jersey Voter Information Portal. You can drop off your ballot to the Board of Elections in person, place it in a ballot drop box, or mail it in.
Mail-in ballots must be postmarked on or before 8 p.m. on Nov. 5.
Who is running in New Jersey?
- U.S. Senate: Democratic Rep. Andy Kim is facing off against Republican opponent Curtis Bashaw for the Senate seat left open by former Sen. Bob Menendez. Menendez resigned in August after he was convicted on charges of bribery, conspiracy, fraud, and making false statements.
