ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Happy Friday! According to Meteorologist Kevin Appleby, the morning showers will wind down by late morning, and the rest of the day will be dryer. Temperatures will peak in the upper 60s or lower 70s.

1. Capital Region’s hottest Halloween on record
It’s that time of year again for ghosts and ghouls to rule the night, but many Capital Region parents have safety at the top of their minds. Halloween 2024 in the Capital Region is one for the books. 2. Troy PD continuing investigation into human remains
The Troy Police Department announced that the investigation into the human remains found at Burden Pond is still ongoing. The police say that a forensic anthropologist analyzing the remains is facilitating with an odontologist to recover dental impressions for further examination to compare with records on file.
3. 1 injured in South Pearl Street stabbing, 1 arrested
A woman was taken to the hospital Thursday after a stabbing. Albany police said it happened around 4:35 p.m. on the 300-block of South Pearl Street.
4. Capital Region cementing itself as semiconductor leader
The nation’s first semiconductor research facility is coming to the City of Albany. Officials said it will further cement the Capital Region as a leader in the industry for decades to come.
5. Nordstrom Rack closing in Colonie Center
Nordstrom Rack is closing up shop in Colonie Center. The news was confirmed by the mall, as well as a WARN notice posted on the New York State Department of Labor website.
