LASG ASSURES NATIONAL POPULATION COUNCIL OF COOPERATION ON E-BIRTH ENLIGHTENMENT CAMPAIGNS
The Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA), Mrs. Bolaji Dada has commended the efforts of Federal Commissioner representing Lagos State on the board of National Population Commission (NPC), Saidat Olayinka Oladunjoye and referred to her as a worthy ambassador of Lagos State.
She said this while welcoming Barrister Oladunjoye and her team on a courtesy to the Ministry recently. She lauded the enlightenment campaign on the proposed E-birth registration in the state by the Commission.
Dada said the Ministry is ready to partner with the National Population Council and promised to invite them to all the Ministry’s programmes so they can further enlighten the women on the advantages of E-birth registration.
She said the Ministry empowers vulnerable women in Lagos state at various programmes irrespective of their tribe or religion and is very open to partnership at all levels.
In her remarks, Mrs. Oladunjoye said the proposed E-birth registration would enable the National Population Council to have accurate data for the government to make adequate provision for the state.
She appreciated all the efforts of the Honourable Commissioner towards eradicating poverty in Lagos through the various empowerment programmes aimed at improving the socioeconomic well-being of vulnerable women.
She said the Commission is putting a lot towards the establishment of electronic registration of birth and death certificates.
