Explore Luna Luna amusement park in an immersive experience at Hudson Yards
HUDSON YARDS, Manhattan (PIX11) – A long-lost historic amusement park will make its return this Fall at Hudson Yards.
The attraction created by legendary artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, and Salvador Dalí will reopen at The Shed as Luna Luna: Forgotten Fantasy on Nov. 20.
Luna Luna was the world’s first art amusement park that opened in Hamburg, Germany 37 years ago. Its rides, games, and attractions were designed by multiple legendary artists of the time.
Among its creations were a carousel by Keith Haring, a Ferris wheel painted by Jean-Michel Basquiat, and a boat swing ride created by Christian Ludwig Attersee.
The park’s attractions sat in 44 shipping containers in Texas until now. Luna Luna: Forgotten Fantasy will give visitors an immersive experience, allowing them to roam the old rides and even reassemble some of the works.
Tickets for the experience are available now and can be purchased online.
