1. Milton man found guilty of assaulting 3-month-old
The Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office announced on Wednesday that Jacob Krall, 21, of Milton, was found guilty of multiple charges in an assault case. Krall was arrested back in March of 2023.
2. Capital Region trick-or-treating hours for Halloween
Here’s when kids can go trick-or-treating in certain cities, towns, and villages on Halloween. If you’re looking to bring your children to a trick-or-treating event rather than neighbors’ homes, there are some options below as well.
3. Transgender woman sues local Hooters for discrimination
The Hooters on Wolf Road has drawn protestors twice in recent weeks. A local transgender woman is suing the franchise for discrimination. NEWS10 has been following the story for a few months and has now learned the lawsuit’s next steps.
4. Cat rescue group holds Halloween donation drive
A local non-profit has used Halloween to help rehome cats. Voice for the Voiceless has operated since 2015 and rescues cats in the Capital District and beyond by connecting them with foster families. The organization is looking for donations.
5. Albany Fire Department Hosts Cancer Screenings for Firefighters
The Albany Fire Department is addressing a critical yet often-overlooked health risk for its firefighters by offering specialized screenings for esophageal cancer. These screenings, available to both active and retired firefighters, are being held at the Albany Fire Department headquarters from Wednesday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
