Albany man charged with attempted murder
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- An Albany man was taken into custody on Wednesday in connection to a shooting investigation, according to police. Yusef Wallace, 26, was charged with second-degree attempted murder.
On October 23 around 8:45 a.m., Albany Police responded to Lexington Avenue and Sherman Street following reports of a shooting in the area. Arriving officers found a 46-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the lower leg.
The victim was taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment after being tended to on scene by emergency responders. The ensuing investigation resulted in Wallace being identified as a suspect, leading to his arrest on an active warrant on October 30.
Wallace was arraigned at Albany City Criminal Court before being remanded to the Albany County Jail.
