Fred Sirieix lands brand new ITV series – and it’s worlds away from the First Dates restaurant
FRED Sirieix has been announced as the star of a new ITV show that will see him explore the Emerald Isle.
TV’s much-loved maître d has landed the new role in ‘Fred’s Tour de Ireland’ that will see the First Dates star embark on a cycling adventure.
The five-part series, produced by ITV Studios Daytime and Waddell Media, will see him discover the stunning landscapes of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
During his cycling expedition, Fred will fully immerse himself in local life, as he takes a peek into the rich culture, history, places, and people that Ireland has to offer.
Visiting hidden gems along the way, TVs much loved front-of-house will take a front seat into exploring a land he knows little about.
Thirty years after crossing the sea by ferry from his native France, the series will see the TV star board a ferry with only his bike for company, as he gets set to pedal his way through scenic and historic locations.
Each episode will see the TV star, who is keen on fitness and cycling, undertake a different challenge on his bike.
After arriving in Dublin, Fred starts with an Ulster Fry (a Northern Irish fried breakfast dish) to prepare himself for a steep climb by bike to the Spelga Dam Reservoir in the Mourne Mountains.
This is the first of five journeys bringing their own demands.
The cycling challenges will bring rewarding experiences along the way as Fred makes his way across several counties from Dublin to Donegal, the Mourne Mountains, Strangford Lough, Belfast, the North Coast, Derry/Londonderry and the Inishowen Peninsula in Donegal.
The French maître d’hôtel and sommelier is well known for his appearances on shows including First Dates and Million Pound Menu.
He also appeared with Gordan Ramsay and Gino D’Acampo in Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip.
Host, Fred, said: “I’ve always wanted to spend some quality time in Ireland to explore the land, learn about the people, plus its food and culture.”
“Travelling by bike can bring you even closer to a place and those that live there, I can’t wait to get started!”
The series is due to air on ITV1 and ITVX in 2025.
